  • As an Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I draw on a range of theories and methods to facilitate each client's development in mind, body and soul and have a particular interest in how our early experiences shape our understanding of ourselves and others.

I am warm and empathic and work with a wide range of presenting problems, both short and long term, to meet the individual needs of each client.

Therapy can provide different ways of working depending on the Adult or young person, and in some cases when talking feels challenging, I offer other ways of working too, such as using Art, Music and Imagery.

  • It depends on you. Some people find that short-term therapy—usually between 6 and 12 sessions—is enough to work through their issues.

Other people prefer to work with a therapist for longer to address deeper patterns of thinking and behaviour that go back to childhood.

We can discuss how many sessions you think you need in an initial meeting, but you’re always free to finish whenever you want, or to continue for longer.

  • I currently offer face-to-face sessions at two locations:

    • The Bruce Building, 115 Percy St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7RY

    • Chapter House, North Shields NE29 0LU

If you’re based in either Newcastle or North Tyneside, and feel that you’d benefit from being outside in nature, I offer walk-and-talk therapy in Jesmond Dene and Northumberland Park.

I also work online, so I can meet you wherever you are. Online therapy is just as effective, and many people find it more convenient.

  • Generally speaking, meeting a therapist once a week is the best way to achieve steady, gradual progress.

But it’s up to you: you may find that meeting once a fortnight feels like enough, or prefer occasional check-ins rather than regular sessions.

Or sometimes you may feel you need more than one session a week. We can discuss what feels right for you.

  • If you have more questions, or would like a chat to see if you think we’d work well together, please get in touch to book a free 15-minute call, complete this form here.
